In this episode of the POWER OF PEACE Podcast, Barbara Gaughen-Muller interviews the Executive Director of International Cities of Peace, Fred Arment.

He stewards a member association of over 250 cities for peace, which is dedicated to encouraging safety, prosperity, and quality of life, for families, neighborhoods, and nations.

  • Each City of Peace has a legacy of peace and that’s something that we don’t teach our children.
  • We help them know and understand the daily news and pretty soon, the negative rises to the top, but each city has a legacy of peace, whether it’s a great educator, a great educational system, artists, people who have contributed in science and, you know, language and all of these things. If you think and you can highlight what is good about the community and you teach that to children, then they’ll become inspired and they’ll take a more positive approach to how they think about their city and community and grow up thinking peace is possible.
